SEO 2.0

SEO 2.0 = Social Engine Optimization

Driving traffic to your site can happen in many ways as 2 well known are organic traffic via Google or some other Search Engine or via Advertisement. Yet in the Era of Social we are now turning more and more into¬†Sharing Creatures, and as it’s said well:

“Sharing is Caring”

According to Wikipedia:

Social media optimization or as I name it Social Engine Optimization:

“… is becoming an increasingly important factor in search engine optimization, as search engines are increasingly utilizing the recommendations of users of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ to rank pages in the search engine result pages. The implication is that when a webpage is shared or “liked” by a user on a social network, it counts as a “vote” for that webpage’s quality. Thus, search engines can use such votes accordingly to properly rank websites in search engine results pages. Furthermore, since it is more difficult to tip the scales or influence the search engines in this way, search engines are putting more stock into social search.”

So probably one of the best ways to drive traffic to your blog, website or e-shop is having lively Social Profiles in the big networks such as:

Facebook – the largest most popular Social Network where more than a billion users share and comment on all kinds of memes

Google+¬†– Google’s Social Network – a great place to share and read about smart topics

LinkedIn – the biggest Business Network that has the attention of most CEOs, CTOs, entrepreneurs and HRs

Twitter – a great way to popularize your articles, especially using #tags and goo.gl links with a + following to check statistics.

Perhaps there are many more networks worth using but I am really starting to like more and more Twitter because of its easy and direct contact with so many users! It definitely is my choice for SEO 2.0 for now.. ūüôā
